Bioengineering promotes technological advancement and scientific discovery. The world of biotechnology has expanded immensely and continues to grow at a rapid pace, creating new opportunities for engineers who have knowledge of the biological sciences, including anatomy, organic chemistry, and genetics. Bioengineers tend to work in the bioelectrical, biomechanical, and biomedical fields. As a bioengineer, you can have an immediate impact on the quality of life.
Pacific is one of the first schools in the country to offer the Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering. The Bioengineering Program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org. This innovative curriculum merges biological science course work into an electrical, computer or mechanical engineering-based curriculum. Exciting opportunities await engineers who have knowledge of the biological sciences including organic chemistry and molecular biology. Options upon graduation are wide-ranging and include careers in: bioengineering industry, medical school, dental school, pharmacy school and graduate school.
