The School of International Studies is Pacific and the surrounding community's window to the world. Through a variety of special events and educational resources, SIS brings the world to Stockton and San Joaquin County residents.

  • The Gerber Lecture Series showcases prominent global leaders. Past speakers have included the former President of Mexico, Vicente Fox, Nobel laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Gro Brundtland, the first female prime minister of Norway.
  • SIS also hosts Distinguished Scholar Lectures bringing national and regional scholars and authors to campus to share their research and interests.
  • SIS sponsors monthly Tuesday World Forums where faculty, alumni and international experts discuss their current research and international issues.
  • What's Up With Culture? is an online training resource designed to prepare students for study abroad. This site is accessed all over the world by 2 million people annually.
  • SIS faculty also share their knowledge and expertise on globally important issues in the community.
