Community Assessment: Jacoby Center partnered with Great Valley Center for Assessment of (quality of life in) Communities (PAC) project in mid-town (Magnolia district) and south SJ county (Dari Sylvester and Marcia Hernandez) funded by grant.

Stockton Sister Cities

Grassroots: Partnership with Jacoby Center and Stockton Sister cities for Grassroots Global Institute, pilot with Empaime, Sonora, this last August. Funded privately.

SUSD, Lodi

SUSD, Lodi: Departments of Math, Physics, and Visual Arts partnered with local school districts (SUSD, Lodi) for teacher education workshops in discipline during summer funded by grants and contracts.

Valley Mountain Regional Center

Community Re-entry Program: Department of Psychology partnered with San Joaquin County for community re-entry programs for selected populations; funded by grants and contracts.

California Council for the Humanities

Stockton Speaks Project: Oral history project that showcases a collection of multi-cultural, multi-generational "coming-of-age" stories, from 54 individuals, in nine ethnic groups, from Stockton, California. A collaborative effort between the City of Stockton, Jacoby Center at University for the Pacific and individuals representing a number of ethnic-based, non-profit community organizations.

Community Partners: San Francisco-based Sierra Club; Deltakeeper (Stockton-based partner of Baykeeper out of San Francisco); Stockton Corral of Westerners international (monthly dinner meetings with a presentation on some aspect of Western American history); Defenders of Wildlife-Muir Center has provided space for programs on campus to better inform the public of Endangered Species issues; Jedediah Smith Society-promotion of the history of exploration of the American West

Yosemite Associates: Muir Center is active in all YA initiatives and regularly attends YA meetings in the park.

Lincoln Unified School District, West Ed K-12 Alliance, San Joaquin County Office of Education

Lincoln Achievement in Mathematics Partnership: This partnership provides professional development for Lincoln Unified mathematics teachers. Dennis Parker, Co-Principal Investigator. January 2007 to June 2008.

Partnership for Student Achievement: This partnership provides professional development for Lodi Unified mathematics and science teachers.  Dennis Parker, Co-Principal Investigator.  October 2006 to August 2008.

Calaveras River Restoration Project: Lincoln Unified School District: Working to include 8th grade science students involved in ecological monitoring and habitat restoration of the Claveras River.  The Calaveras River projects listed here are run by Dr. Gregg Anderson.

SJ County Dept of Public Works

Department of Water Resources Urban Streams Grant: San Joaquin County Department of Public Works; Storm Water Management Program-acting as technical advisor and co-sponsor to eradicate an invasive giant reed species (Arundo donax)

Student camp; Landowner Education and Watershed Stewardship Program (SLEWS): Provided two students on a cooperative basis as SLEWS mentors for high school student

Calaveras River Fish and Calaveras River Watershed Stewardship Groups

Calaveras River Restoration Fund: Participating in workshops and working to create partnerships with these two community groups in improving conditions in the Calaveras River.

Interagency Water Group

Mitten Crab Working Group: Interagency task force involved in studying this invasive crab species and the effects on native species in the Delta

Monterey Bay Aquarium

River Otter Team: Working with the River Otter Team to help design a realistic enclosure for a river otter exhibit that is under development that will house North American river otters at the aquarium.

SERVE Program: Mentoring program for at-risk teens

Stockton Public Library

Literacy Program: Developed with the Cesar Chavez/Stockton Library's "Reach out and Read Program." After attending an all-day training, students in Professor Lehmann's Shakespeare class read to children in medical waiting rooms in South and Central Stockton, as a means of modeling literacy skills to both parents and children alike.

Magnolia District, Stockton

Run by Dr. Courtney Lehmann. Focused primary attention in Stockton and the Midtown Magnolia district. The Jacoby Center has developed two outreach programs for the Magnolia district: City of Stockton Youth Advisory Board (YAB); HUD grant funds to stimulate activities in tutoring, career development and citizenship training. Dr. Bob Benedetti co-facilities the Midtown Magnolia Mayors Taskforce.
