MESA enables educationally disadvantaged students in as early as middle school to prepare for and graduate from a four-year college or university with a math-based degree in areas such as engineering, the sciences, computer science, and mathematics. Pacific is affiliated with California MESA, which is a founding member of MESA USA, a partnership of MESA programs from eight states that have joined together to support disadvantaged and underrepresented students in attaining math-based degrees. MESA USA members include MESA programs in Arizona, California, Colorado, Maryland, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

MESA in the Community and at Pacific

  • MESA School Program  The MESA Center at Pacific serves eight hundred 4th-12th grade students per year. Pacific MESA Students offer a Saturday Academy with math and science workshops for students as well as various other activities focused on math, science, and engineering concepts.
  • MESA Engineering Program  The MESA Engineering Program at Pacific provides MESA students with resources to help students succeed in their education and beyond by career assistance, exposure to opportunities, and a wide range of other academic support.

Additionally, the MESA Community College Program is available for students attending San Joaquin Delta College. The MESA Community College Program provides science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) academic development to community college students so they will excel academically and transfer to four-year institutions in calculus-based majors.
