Multimedia Program Information Sheet

Overview

The program is designed to encourage students, faculty, and staff to build digital literacy skills, and the service can be used for both academic and personal creative work. The program consists of 3 service components:

1.    The One Button Studio

2.    The Media Lab

3.    Camera Equipment Loan 

Program supervisors: Martin Lehman (CTL-x6-7381) and Virginia Trow (LibAdmin-x6-2434). Administration is provided by several specialized video production student workers from the Library Technology Team. Please refer questions and problems that may arise to the student worker on duty. Student workers will be on call in the IC area, and in the office adjoining the studio.

One Button Studio

 

Available to students, faculty, and staff only

 

Studio Hours of Operation:

11:00am-6:00pm Mon-Fri.

  

How to Reserve:

Studio Time Allowed

50 minute sessions on the hour.

One booking per day

 

 

Required to Bring: 

Minimum 8 GB storage media (flash drive). 16 GB drives available for purchase ($10) at the Circulation Desk

Media Lab

Available to students, faculty, and staff only.

 

Studio Hours of Operation:

11:00am-6:00pm Mon-Fri.

 

Reservations:

No reservations required. First come, first served

 

Class Reservations:

Must be reserved 48 hrs. in advance; contact the supervisors directly (M. Lehman or V.Trow)

 

Equipment Available:

8 Macintosh Editing Stations; I multimedia table with video/audio viewing equipment (VCR)

 

Software Available:

AVID Media Composer, Final Cut Pro X, iMovie, Adobe Creative Cloud, Sebelius, Logic Pro, and Final Cut Pro (vers. 7)

 




 

Required to Bring:

Users should bring their own media. Storage on desktop machines not allowed.

 

Additional Guidelines for Users

Users are requested to limit their use of equipment to 2 hrs. and may be asked to leave if they do not adhere to this policy

Camera Equipment Loan

Camera Reservations:

First come, first served; checkout in person; no advance reservations; non-renewable.

 

How to check out equipment:

Available at the Circ. Desk with a valid university  ID; Borrowers must sign a waiver form and speak with a video production student on duty

 

Equipment Kits Available:

3 Sony Camcorders, 1 GoPro Camera; 3 tripods

 

Loan Period:

Faculty: 7 days; Students and Staff: 3 days
