Strategic Planning

Pacific 2020 is the university's Strategic Plan that has guided our work over the last five years. The strategic plan has five priorities that are reflected in the university's annual initiatives: developing our multi-campus university; enhancing enrollments and improving student success; building our reputation through academics; supporting faculty and staff development and engagement; and embracing our comprehensive fundraising campaign. These initiatives have allowed us to tackle the most critical areas to advance the university. Through the excellent work and commitment of our faculty, staff and students, we have made great progress on our plan since it was established four years ago.

From time to time, it is important to review our accomplishments and long-term goals and identify opportunities that will help us realize our vision of becoming a leading university in California. A review of the plan started in summer 2016 at our leadership and Board of Regents retreats, and continued throughout the fall with tremendous input from the five Strategic Planning Teams and the entire Pacific community. Based upon this foundational work, in spring 2017 we narrowed the focus of the plan, now referred to as Pacific 2020 Refresh.

Approved by the Board of Regents at its May 2017 meeting, Pacific 2020 Refresh focuses on two themes that will guide the university's work for the next five years: Students with Purpose and Agile and Dynamic Growth. Five priorities (with associated initiatives, actions and timelines) support these themes: Integrate Undergraduate Student Support, Integrate Graduate Support, Create a Transformative Liberal Arts Experience, Build a Unified University and Develop a School of Health.
