March 19, 2010
Pamela A. Eibeck was formally installed as University of the Pacific’s 24th President on March 19, 2010. A rare event for any university, her installation took place during a University-wide ceremony that included an academic procession and involved numerous representatives from other universities, including Harvard, Yale, George Washington and University of Pennsylvania, as well as her alma mater Stanford University.
Hundreds of Pacific students, staff, professors, administrators and graduates witnessed the historic occasion, which was led by Pacific Board of Regents Chair Tom Zuckerman. Eibeck's mentor Karl S. Pister, chancellor emeritus of University of California-Santa Cruz, gave the keynote address.
