The University utilizes fuel efficient and electric vehicles. 52% of University vehicles, cars and carts, are electric. Solar panels have been installed on approximately 25% of the electric carts operated by Physical Plant. |
Electric Vehicle Charging & Low Emission Vehicles (LEVs)
Stockton: Offers preferred parking for LEVs and carpool vehicles. Talk to Human Resources in person for information about parking permits.
San Francisco: There are EV charge stations as well as two low emission, fuel efficient vehicle only spaces. LEV spaces are assigned in a separate lottery for those drivers with zero emission, hybrid, or alternative fuel vehicles. Contact San Francisco Campus Department of Public Safety with questions regarding the lottery 415.929.6456.
Smart Commute Options
Anyone working at the Stockton campus and using a smart commute option can get a FREE emergency ride home through DIBS.

Bikes and Boards

Stockton: Contact Public Safety to register bicycles. If stolen, having it registered helps with recovery. Racks for bikes and skateboards are provided throughout campus. Sacramento: JUMP Bikes - dockless e-bikes. JUMP offers a student plan for currently enrolled students. |
Public Transportation
Stockton: The following Stockton Metro bus routes have stops at Pacific: 23, 40, 378, 545, 578.
San Joaquin RTD now offers a service, Van Go!, which allows riders to reserve all one-way trips for only $4. It is a ride sharing service that only requires the app available on iOS and Android.

Carshare
Zipcar provides self-service, on-demand car sharing at the Stockton and Sacramento campuses.
To use Zipcars, simply register as a member, reserve a car online or by phone, use your Zipcard or phone to enter the car parked on campus, and drive away. Return the car to the same location where you picked it up.
This program is open to students, faculty, and staff who are 18 years or older. Members get:
- Access to Zipcars 24/7
- Discounted hourly rates starting at just $7 per hour
- Gas, insurance, and maintenance included at no extra cost
- $35 in driving credit for your first month when you join for only $25 a year

Rideshare & Carpooling
Stockton:
- Preferred parking – offered for carpoolers and low emission vehicles. Contact Human Resources to register.
- DIBS – free program from the San Joaquin Council of Governments available to anyone working in San Joaquin County
- Offers free emergency ride home services to members who use a smart commute option to get to work. Must be registered beforehand. See HR for more information.
- Connect online with people to carpool or vanpool
- Provides resources for bicycle commuters
