Shared Governance
The faculty in the College of the Pacific play an active role in academic affairs and other university concerns by serving on standing committees of the College as well as University committees.
Descriptions of the committees are provided below along with current members.
The responsibilities of the faculty pertaining to the governance of the College are set forth in the College Bylaws.

College of the Pacific Council
The College of the Pacific Council is the representative governing body of the College and is the agent through which the faculty acts in the making of College policy.
Meeting Times: First Monday of each month, 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.

The Committee on Courses and Standards hears student petitions regarding College academic policies and regulations.
Meeting Times: Required on campus meetings twice in the summer, and a minimum of once in the fall and spring semester.

Pacific Seminar I Planning Committee
Meeting times: Spring semester will have regular meetings to review the course components, standard syllabus and alternative syllabi proposal. Occasional meetings in the fall.
Obligations:
1. Revise the course reader every two years and review proofs [delete!]
2. Review course objectives and policies
3. Review course assignments, common learning experiences, general sessions and activities
4. Create standard course syllabus
5. Create guidelines for alternative syllabi and review submitted alternative syllabi
6. Determine structure and goals of faculty meetings including faculty bootcamp in August
7. Review course assessment
College Scholarship Fund Committee
The faculty fund committee encourages and supports research projects conducted by faculty
and students. The committee selects the awardees for College Pacific Fund grants and College
Research Fund grants. There are two funding cycles per academic year.
