Minutes: Minutes of February 1oth meeting approved with minor revision.
Announcements: Spring Enrollment on target as budgeted for 2009, up 81 students, down 7 in undergrad, large gains in graduate programs from 555 to 621, and up approximately 22 in Pharmacy.
IPC Memo status: distributed to all campuses on March 2, 2009.
Dental School Budget: Craig Yarborough and Roy Bergstrom presented the FY10 Budget Recommendations for the Dental School. Student applications remain strong with 3,200 applicants for the 140 positions in the DDS class starting July 2009. Tuition will increase to 5.4% ($2.7M additional revenue). The following initiatives will be the upcoming years focus with the tuition increase: (1.) two full-time faculty to enhance educational program, (2.) a new budget for faculty development programs, (3.) merit pool, (4.) a new clinic information system, (5.) continuing computer refreshes, (6.) VOIP phone system upgrade and (7.) upgrade the elevators in the Post Street housing facility.
Business Continuity Plan: Risk Management presented the Business Continuity Planning (BCP) related to all three campuses based on regional natural disasters such as floods-Stockton campus, pandemic flu-Sacramento campus and earthquakes-San Francisco campus. Sydnor shared which schools and departments have provided their business continuity plans. Consultants and reference materials are being utilized to help create our BCP. Pacific has tested and validated the recent Crisis Response Team and Alert Team exercise of three structural fires on campus, CPCE evacuation of Burns Tower during last year’s wind storm and Purchasing did a table top BCP exercise with Risk Management’s assistance.
