Gaia's Got a Fever

12:30 Seminar

We will first examine the evidence for, and the scientific and other perspectives on climate change, commonly called "Global Warming". After giving ourselves a good foundation in what is known, unknown, and the quality of the predictions of the future, we will move to the social issues, and particularly the effects on societies, good or otherwise. We will engage in policy speculation, always keeping in view the realities of constraints from physics, such as a hydrogen economy, solar and alternative solutions, conservation, carbon sequestration, and other avenues to alleviate the ill effects of climate change. We will also look for opportunities brought about by global warming and their ramifications for the good society.
