Personal Statement
A space is provided on the online application. You do not need to submit your statement separately.
If you are completing the Common Application, please complete the "Personal Essay" under the Writing Section of the Common Application. The Common Application has a list of possible topics for your essay. Please select the topic that interests you the most.
For Domestic and International Applicants
Your application does not require you to submit an essay. In its place, however, we do ask you to submit a brief personal statement (250 to 500 words) - as a way to get to know you as a person and more than a collection of classes and test scores. Relax - there are no wrong answers. But we do ask you to consider grammar, spelling and the content of what you wish to express. The topic is up to you, but if you need some help getting started, here is an idea:
Freshman & Transfers
"Describe your professional and educational goals in conjunction with your selected major choice."
Note for International Applicants
If your native language is not English, you may seek assistance in writing the statement.
