Deadline to add student worker positions in Handshake is July 28

Jul 24, 2020

With the fall semester quickly approaching, students have begun actively searching for on-campus jobs in Handshake. Please post all on-campus work opportunities for students by the end of the day on Tuesday, July 28.

Questions to consider regarding hiring student workers:

  • Do you have student worker positions that could be transitioned so that all or some of the work can be completed remotely?
  • Do you have projects that have been deferred that lend themselves to being completed remotely?
  • Are there new initiatives that you could offer that could be completed remotely?
  • Is there outreach to students that your students could complete (informal peer-to-peer counseling/advising)?
  • Are there training opportunities that you have not been able to provide to your students?

Additional considerations:

  • How you will validate the hours that your students will work remotely.
  • Equipment your students would need to work remotely (e.g. laptops, tablets, phones).
  • Student access to university software (including applications such as Microsoft Office).
