Diversity, Equity and Inclusion | School of Engineering and Computer Science

University of the Pacific's School of Engineering and Computer Science (SOECS) believes that diversity, equity and inclusion are essential components of positive educational and professional experiences. Although we have made progress in diversity, equity and inclusion, we recognize that there is a lot more work to do. As we move forward, we remain focused on continuing to build inclusive and safe environments as well as reaffirming our commitment to developing a long-term strategy to lead with purpose and create a real, lasting impact.

Our faculty and staff are deeply committed to supporting our students during their entire educational journey. Whether you are a prospective student, graduating senior or valued alumni, we are here to help you discover your path and achieve your goals.

Below you can explore the many support programs we have within SOECS as well as campus resources that are available to all students.

Student Organizations

SOECS is home to many student organizations such as the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and Society of Women Engineers (SWE).

Campus Resources

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) at Pacific provides a broad range of therapeutic services. CAPS has also compiled a list of resources to support an anti-racist education.

MESA University Program (MEP)

MEP provides students with a wide range of academic support as well as exposure to different careers available to engineering and computer science graduates.

MESA Schools Program

The mission of the Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) program is to provide educationally and economically disadvantaged students opportunities to engage with these fields in ways that inspire them and to support our students in their higher education and career goals.

With the generous support of donors, SOECS is able to offer a plethora of merit and need based scholarships.

"I am proud to be a part of the School of Engineering and Computer Science at Pacific. Showcasing the contributions, achievements and successes of our students has been the best part of my job. I’m excited to continue working with staff and faculty to develop and implement support programs for underrepresented minorities.”
