Rosie Montes Biography
Rosie Montes has 16 years of experience in higher education at both the community and university level. Rosie has spent her career strongly committed to higher education, working with families, students, staff, and faculty. With a dual experience, both as a student employee and as full-time staff, she grasps the knowledge and experience in higher education.
Rosie earned her Master of Arts in Education, Student Affairs/ Educational and Organizational Leadership. Her educational journey has contributed to the body of knowledge regarding assessment, general business knowledge, organizational behavior, student-learning outcomes, broad base of technical skills, and diversity and inclusion. At the University of the Pacific, Rosie started her career as a Financial Aid Counselor and was quickly promoted to a Financial Aid Analyst. She worked closely with parents and students on ways to fund their college education. Other responsibilities included processing Direct Loans, Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and program management. Rosie started her TRiO career with University of the Pacific’s Upward Bound Program and served as the director for 3 years, where she assisted high school students to graduate and attend post-secondary education. Rosie is currently serving as the director for the SUCCESS TRiO Program at University of the Pacific, where she works closely with first-generation and income eligible students with academic and personal development.
