Priscila's Professional Biography
Priscila has 7 years of experience in Higher Education in various capacities, in professional roles, as a student worker, and as a graduate assistant. Through the many roles she’s had on university campuses such as Berklee College of Music, Western Oregon University and University of the Pacific, she excels at building relationships with students and constantly works through a social justice lens to provide a culturally inclusive climate wherever she works.
Priscila is a proud Pacific alumni. She received her Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Sociology and Spanish, while minoring in Latin American Studies in 2016. She then went on to earn her Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Student Affairs and Educational and Organizational Leadership. Here she gained theoretical frameworks heavy on student development and assessment that guide her everyday work with students.
After receiving her Master’s degree, she moved to Oregon to work for Western Oregon University as an Advisor for their Trio SSS Student Enrichment Program. There she guided first-generation low-income college students and provided support academically and socially. She then came back to Pacific and now works as Upward Bound’s Program Advisor where she works with first-generation, low-income high school student’s in the pathway to college . Prisicla’s goal has always been to bridge the gap of support for first-generation, low-income students.
