2020 United Way campaign reaches its third week

Nov 12, 2019

The 2020 United Way campaign continues at University of the Pacific’s campuses in Sacramento, San Francisco and Stockton.

Did you know …

  • University of the Pacific employees pledged more than $61,000 in last year’s United Way Campaign.
  • That total was the eighth-highest among San Joaquin County businesses or agencies.
  • An estimated 4,500 donors contribute to United Way of San Joaquin County each year.
  • Worldwide, $5.2 billion is pledged by approximately 9.6 million donors.
  • Your United Way pledge dollars can be designated for programs on the Pacific campus, such as Pacific Food Pantry and the Community Involvement Program.

The campaign is part of our benefits open enrollment, which will run through Nov. 24.

Pacific employees who donate to the drive are eligible for prize drawings. As of Nov. 11, 61 Pacific employees have pledged to United Way inching us closer to our universitywide goal of 323 gifts.

The recipients of this week’s prize drawings are Neel Prasad (Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences) and Art Sprecher (Pacific Technology and Information Services). Both will receive a pair of season tickets for Conservatory of Music concerts. There are two more weeks of prize drawings:

November 18

  • Two tickets for both sessions of the NCAA Men’s Water Polo Final Four – December 7–8 on the Stockton Campus
  • One gift package ($100 estimated) from the Sacramento campus book store

November 25

  • One “A” annual parking pass for the Stockton campus

Employees have the option to make a one-time donation or designate a payroll deduction through the open enrollment process (Pacific login required). Information on how to donate to United Way also is included in the open enrollment packets mailed to faculty and staff home addresses.
