Chart of Accounts Redesign Project phase 2 update

The project to redesign Pacific's Chart of Accounts (COA) continues to make steady progress toward the July 2020 implementation date with the completion of a major milestone in mid-October. The project team has uploaded into the Banner test environment the new, initial COA hierarchy along with the crosswalk mapping of old accounts elements to the new ones.

The project team members are now working to validate the new chart by collaborating with academic and administrative unit representatives to test reports and requirements. Since the COA is the university's mechanism for organizing and tracking accounts and reporting financial hierarchies, it requires exacting levels of validation, extensive coordination and specific adjustments to finalize the details.

What's next? 
The team anticipates completing the Banner system validation by the end of December so that designated business managers and finance staff can begin user acceptance testing in January 2020.
