Pre-Health Advising

Pre-Health Advising at University of the Pacific serves both currently enrolled and alumni students, from all majors*, who have an interest in pursuing any health or allied health profession.

We supplement faculty advising to support student's academic, professional, and personal growth by empowering them to become proactive self-advocates and decision-makers in pursuit of their health career aspirations.

Pre-Health Advising offers one-on-one and small group sessions to guide students in:

  • Exploring both professions in health & allied health fields
  • Completing appropriate prerequisite course requirements
  • Connecting to relevant on & off-campus resources to develop clinical & shadowing experience
  • Understanding entrance exams & the application process

*Pre-Dental and Pre-Pharmacy Advantage Program students are advised by their respective school and program advisors . Students seeking information on graduate programs within Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry & the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy are encouraged to connect directly with these graduate programs.

Appointments are available Monday - Friday.

  • First-time appointments are 45 minutes and provide one-on-one detailed advising for students. Students can explore, prepare and/or apply to their health profession of interest during these appointments.

  • Follow-up appointments are 30 minutes and allow students to discuss their academic progress and timeline in relation to their health profession of interest or health portfolio. Students unable to attend Drop-in Advising Sessions are encouraged to schedule this type of appointment for brief questions.

To schedule an individual appointment, please call the Academic Advising & Career Services Center (AACSC) at (209) 946 - 2361, or schedule an appointment using the following Calendly link.
