Choosing a Program
With so many options, it can be daunting to pick a destination or specific program. The Education Abroad Office staff are here to help! Click Contact Us on the left and schedule a time to discuss your intentions, major, and interests, and learn about the application process.
On all approved programs, you can get credit to advance your Pacific degree. However, you'll need to work with your academic advisor to determine how the individual courses will transfer back to Pacific.
In the application portal you'll find a map that allows you to search for program by country. You can also find a list of all 330 partner institutions in 65 countries HERE.
Virtual Programs
Due to the global pandemic, Pacific's partners have created virtual opportunities:
- IES Abroad Virtual Internships
- ISEP Virtual Courses, Internships, and Service Learning Opportunities
- USAC Virtual Courses and Internships
On these virtual programs you can still have an international experience without leaving home. The programs and opportunities vary widely so check out the links above for more details.
Pacific Exchange Programs
University of the Pacific has agreements with several universities abroad. These are exchange programs, where a Pacific student enrolls at a foreign university, and one of their students comes to Pacific. These programs offer a deeply immersive experience in the host country.
Provider Programs
Pacific partners with four organizations, each offering a wide range of international programs and destinations. These are US-based organizations offering classes at foreign universities alongside local students ("direct enroll"), classes at the organization's education centers ("island model"), or a combination of both ("hybrid"). These programs are accredited and vetted to make sure they align with Pacific's education standards. They provide an additional layer of support and assistance to students on their programs as well as a large number of scholarships.
Short Term Faculty-Led Programs
Pacific offers several short term programs for unit credit. Most take place during the summer and are led by a Pacific faculty member. Often these programs have a linguistic or departmental focus.
