Virtual Desktops (VDI) in Labs and Classrooms

What is the idle time that asks for session extension for the computers?
In general, this is 15 minutes. The time may be less in places like a laboratory, or within a medical space (for example) or it may be longer depending on the pool and GPO settings. Note that the system will not ask for a time extension, but returns the user to a locked screen if they interact with the system before 30 minutes has elapsed.

What happens to saved/unsaved work if the session logs out before the user is ready?
In a persistent desktop - the work is saved to the system following the same method as a desktop would. In a Non Persistent Desktop - the work may be saved as an 'auto recover' to the users U drive, but in most cases, if the user logs out / is logged out; the work is lost.

Is there a timeout period that logs out the user after xx time of inactivity?
In general, this is 15 minutes after the 'screen saver' has started, or after 30 minutes of inactivity.

How can files be transferred to a USB or Google Drive?
Most pools allow the user to interact with a USB flash drive like they would on a typical desktop.Google Drive is not installed, but the user can launch a browser, navigate to https://drive.google.com, and upload their files there by clicking Upload Files, or utilizing Drag and Drop.

How to log in to a VDI Computer?
Login using your Pacific NET ID and current Password, same as your would a desktop. First the user must have the client installed and configured, instructions are here. Once the client is installed and configured, the user would login using their PacificNET ID and Password.
