Mahler at Pacific, January 30-31, 2021
Due to unpredictable nature of COVID-19 situation and in the best interest of everyone's health and safety, the Conservatory of Music is canceling Mahler at Pacific scheduled for January 2021. We are looking forward to continuing the program in the academic year 2021-22.
“I had a blast playing great music for Mahler At Pacific while having an amazing time. Playing the cello alongside Pacific students and my twin brother made it even more unique and enjoyable! I will forever remember this marvelous experience as well as the people, the school and the music.”
- Taylor Nguyen, cello
“The Mahler At Pacific orchestra was an amazing educational experience for me. I had the opportunity to play with many talented musicians and friends. This was an eye opening experience and I won’t forget the honor of playing.”
- Hayden Nguyen, cello
Mahler At Pacific is an innovative program which pairs talented high school musicians with members of University of the Pacific's Symphony Orchestra. High school students rehearse side-by-side with Conservatory students over one weekend, and receive instruction from Conservatory faculty. Participants are selected by audition.
On February 9, 2020, Mahler At Pacific performed Symphony No. 1 "Titan." The next event will be held in winter 2022. Please check back in August 2021 for registration details. Contact music@pacific.edu with questions.
