Principal Investigator of a fourteen-person team of investigators at nine national universities for NSF TUES Phase 2. Award of $598,556 for three years research into "Improved Learning for Undergraduate Engineering Programs Using Finite Element Learning Modules;" awarded in September 2010.
Provisional Patent filed with US Patent and Trademark Office for patent of Laser Muscle Fatigue and Pain Sensing System, February 1, 2007, with co-inventors Casimir Leknius and Howard Chi.
Principal Investigator of a six-person team of investigators for National Science Foundation CCLI-Phase 1. Awarded $151,679 for three years research into "Finite Element Method Exercises for Use in Undergraduate Engineering," awarded in March 2006 and supplemented in September 2008.
