Bitlocker

Microsoft BitLocker is an application built into professional versions of the Windows operating system. BitLocker provides storage drive encryption that is designed to prevent unauthorized access to the data contained there. It is enabled by Pacific Technology on all university-issued Windows devices.

Requirements:

Departments must make all device purchases through their local helpdesk or Technical Service Provider. The Helpdesk will enable BitLocker on all compatible devices as part of the setup process when they are received.

Requesting the Service:

No action is normally required, as BitLocker runs in the background. Encryption keys are stored by Pacific Technology and are retrieved as needed.
