How do I configure my workstation for Student, Staff, or Faculty PacificNet Wireless Access?
By Operating system:
Mac OS X
Windows 10
Windows 8
Windows 7
For Apple Macintosh OS X 10.7 and up:
- Click the "Wi-Fi" drop down menu, located at the top-right of your screen by the date and time.
- Choose PacificNet.
- You will be prompted to enter your PacificNet username and password. Make sure to keep "Mode" as "Automatic" and that "Remember this network" is checked. Click the "Join" button.
- You will be prompted to verify the new certificate for the wireless connection. Confirm that the Radius Server listed is "pacificnet-ssl1.serv.pacific.edu" or "pacificnet-ssl2.serv.pacific.edu" and that the Root CA is "USERTrust RSA Certification Authority". Click the "Continue" button.
- You will then be prompted with a system notification asking for your OS X credentials so that it can add this new certificate to your keychain. Enter your OS X username and password and click the "Update Settings" button.
- After completing these steps, you should have a fully functional connection to the Pacific wireless network. Reconnecting to the network may take up to 20 seconds as a new IP address is obtained for your computer, so launching a web browser immediately after completing these steps may result in a "Not connected to the Internet" warning.
