Staff Performance Reviews
A performance review is one of the most important management tools available to supervisors and staff. It is an official part of documenting job performance, recognizing successes and planning for the future. Performance reviews are conducted annually for all Pacific staff, and due in Human Resources on July 1 each year.
Performance reviews are:
- an integral part of day to day operations, as well as long-range planning;
- a way of maintaining open communication between supervisors and staff;
- a way of offering staff constructive insight into their own career development, as well as assistance in meeting professional goals; and
- an opportunity for supervisors and staff to discuss the successes in accomplishing the past year's goals and to establish a plan for achieving University and department goals and objectives in the coming year.

Note: If a new employee has completed the Introductory Performance Review on or after April 1st, it is not necessary to complete the entire annual performance review. However, managers will need to set goals with the employee for the next fiscal year, so these can be measured and reviewed when the full annual review is completed in the following year. Please fill out the cover page of the annual review and the goals page and submit that to HR by July 1st.
