Open Enrollment Procedures

Current Employees During Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment for 2018 will begin October 28th through November 28th, 2017.  You must enrollby December 2, 2017 for benefit elections to be effective for January 1, 2018.  There will be no exceptions. You must complete an enrollment change form each year during Open Enrollment to enroll in the Medical Flexible Spending Account and/or the Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account. If you would like your other benefits to remain the same, there is no action for you to take.  

You only need to enroll if you:

  • Wish to change your existing coverage
  • Add or drop dependents and/or provide updated dependent information
  • Want to participate in a Flexible Spending Account for 2018

All other benefits and options that you have in 2017 will continue through 2018 if you do not make changes before the Open Enrollment Deadline.

2018 Open Enrollment Steps

1. READ through the 2018 Open Enrollment Guide and review plan summaries on the University Benefits website.

2. THINK about what your needs are in relation to benefit options.

3. DECIDE which benenfits and options are right for you and your dependents.

4. ENROLL by completing the enrollment form, print and sign it.

5. SUBMIT your signed enrollment form to Human Resources.

OPEN ENROLLMENT DEADLINE IS DECEMBER 2, 2017
