Standing Reports:

Strategic Enrollment Targets

Brodnick distributed a packet containing the current operational enrollment plan and a hypothetical model based on the PR15 planning process. This is a model and there will be a lot of shifting over the upcoming months. The slow growth model projects growth through 2013-15 than a flattening out.

Current Agenda Items:

Campus Residential Master Planning (Follow up)

This report replaces the prior one submitted on 10/17/06. Jacobson thoroughly reviewed the newly revised report. Concerns about pushing out the junior and seniors to house freshman and sophomores and concerns relating to housing, pharmacy and the college were noted. Two enrollment scenarios: Steady State Model to 2015 and Slow Growth Model to 2015 of moderate increase were included.

One question that was addressed, if we didn’t have the additional housing what effects would if have on applicant submissions? Still the need exists to explore creative options to resolve our housing problems. Current rents are 15-20% lower than the lowest rates compared to other universities. Cavanaugh reminded everyone there are debt capacity issues -- bond ratings are crucial for the university.

The Sacramento campus is also investigating their housing and dinning hall issues as well. A RFP will be generated and may need bond assistance.

Dental School situation is currently unknown, but housing issues have been discussed and needs further discussions.

Pacific Rising - Draft 6

The six commitments were reviewed and minor changes were addressed. A question of the order is still on the table. Possibly add a bullet that will address the facility needs since they will be there between now and 2015.  They already planned “approved” projects, but there will be more improvements with the next Pacific Raising beyond 2015.

Next meeting: November 21, 2006, 2 - 4 p.m. in the Taylor Conference Room

Meeting adjourned at 4:10 p.m.
